Planning is inherently visual. For most, a building is a facsimile of value, and a tree is a facsimile of life. Buildings are valued for their capacity to generate money, but trees are valued for their capacity to be alive. By hiding their value, buildings, landscaping, and walls create a profound physical and social distance against the natural world. Despite planning theorists’ enthusiasm to dissolve the rupture of public space and city fabric, the built environment is too hostile to nature’s role in a city. Regardless of the technologies and architectural technologies, the building and the landscape should co-exist. Trees mitigate the visual and physical distance between buildings and the natural environment.
Abstract: Urban areas model is one of the fundamental research topic in city design sub-fields such as architecture, urban planning and landscape architecture etc. This paper aims to find urban area attractors from data statistics of large-scale results of semantic labelling tasks. The proposed new is based on a new scale-dependent non-Gaussian behaviour model which is highly influenced by the methods of data encoding. Aneidophone seems to be a useful approach for the proposed model due to its high affinity to calculated attributes of urban areas. This is confirmed by the performance of proposed models on three urban city-scale datasets. The further work needs to be done on large-scale and thin urban areas as well. 7211a4ac4a
